I live in a flatland area south of Vancouver where you can look up to a couple of beautiful mountain ranges. I can see them from the window of my practice room, where I am writing you this. The songs herein were crafted and honed from that particular perspective and honed to a biblical theme of the Psalms of Ascents ( Psalms 120-135), when the people of israel used to go up the mountain of the Lord to be in God's presence.
May the joy leak out on the mountain, or in the valley; wherever it is you sing and listen.

Once a Kid and Cloud Nine: These two instrumentals were recorded at Columbia Recording, Vancouver. "Once a Kid" was engineered by Kathryn Thiessen and "Cloud Nine" (originally titled "Everlasting Joy") by Chris Von Jones. Mixed by Miles Hill.
Lord of the Mountain: Influenced by the view from my window, a trip to the Rockies, and a touch of the Psalms of Ascents (120 - 134)
Let Not This World: Holler it anytime, anywhere.
O the Deep Deep Love of Jesus: Traditional Welsh hymn that somehow went Spanish/Judaic.
Have a Little Mercy: Dedicated to the work of Hope International in developing countries.

The songs were recorded "live off the floor" with lead vocal/guitar, bass, drums, and grand piano all being recorded in performance together. All the overdubs of violin, dulcimer, mandolin, percussion, extra guitars and vocals were added later to the live feel.
The live beds were recorded on 20-bit A-DAT at Bob Murphy's studio, Vancouver, BC, and engineered by Miles Hill, assisted by Bob Murphy.
The overdubs and mix occurred at Von Foxx Productions in North Vancouver on Logic Audio, with the Mackie D8B. A couple of lead vocal/guitar and bass performances were re-done, otherwise everything you hear are the original "live" takes plus overdubs. No digital musical instruments, click track, sequencing, loops, auto-tune, or samples were used.
