SPRING 2002 Light! Out of winter and into spring. Check out the new FAMILY PICS section Family Pics- a portrait of who I belong to - along with some extras. I’m traveling again for concerts. I’m also in a writing and recording mode these days – writing new songs that is. “Lord of the Mountain” was a great experience and now it’s time to move on. I was glad for the positive press reviews. I hope to create many new works – for others - for the church too.THE CHURCH: Early this year I was struck again at how important the church is.
It may be that the church is receiving less value in the culture overall but
God values the Church – the Body – more than I’ve probably realized. Rory Noland, in his excellent book " The Heart of the Artist"
maintains that the church is the HOPE of the world. Personally, I believe Christ is the hope Rory is speaking of.
But the Church has a role to play in presenting God's hope.
In looking to the future I realize that I’d like to leave more songs for the church.
To offer HOPE. I’ve not been intentional enough about writing songs that would that
could be sung by anyone in the church.
Some of that is changing now.
There's some great stuff out there -
and I'm not so much jumping on the worship bandwagon but rather jumping in the river.
The church can be a source of GREAT music that will last.
I’m writing some songs for the Body - intentionally.
Songs to sung by anyone, for everyone and giving the church a place to
stand while singing of hope, of faith, of love –
of a great God. It's a craft. I hope that you will find your voice
singing out amongst the many.
May we sing as one, giving
honor where honor is due. COMING SOON - NEW SONGS ON MP3:
Soon I will be leaving some new songs on MP3 files on this site.
You will be able to download them for listening or learning a new song. Lyrics will be provided. And I hope to add basic charts too for other musicians.
These songs will be recorded on the YAMAHA AW 4416 16 track digital recorder at home. It's a lot of fun recording at home!
