SUMMER 2001

Greetings friends and supporters,

Yes, it's been awhile, but I'm glad to say that I've got to the point of entering this HTML stuff by myself. As many of you know, I wrapped up my part-time music position at St.John's in December of 2000, after serving there for 5 years. So this year has had new rhythm to it and has brought some memorable events in Calgary, Ottawa, Victoria, Vernon, and Vancouver. Most recently, I played at the Anglican Essentials conference in a trio with Spencer Capier on violin, bouzouki, guitar and mandolin with Ken Cormier on piano. A wonderful Canadian actor-storyteller-comedienne-singer from London, Ontario, by the name of Judy Savoy MacDonald, opened this particular Arts Night. She interfaces between the biblical narrative and Canadian culture. I never laughed so hard before going out to play. It is a joy to see other professional artists using their talents to honor God and touch people in such a moving way. I'm excited about the fall and you can see the places I'll be playing and ministering by clicking on CONCERT DATES.

I'm struck by a few simple maxims. Faith, Hope and Love are 3 attributes that I still seek and desire to integrate in my life. I believe we'll need these attributes not just for ourselves but so we can be a blessing to others. My role in all this is to create good art that will communicate and touch people where they are, even draw some to worship Him. My hunger for God must not dim, for shallowness is a blight and forgiveness runs too deep. I hope to see many of you at the events this fall. Please drop by the brand GUESTBOOK

as ever,
- your Canadian bard,

Michael Hart
