A Stack of Reasons Why Dealer BookStacks
is the Book Management Solution For You.
One. Easy to Use.
- Parmer Books' Dealer BookStacks is a powerful hypertext database developed on Apple®Macintosh Hypercard application software. It's economical, flexible and easy-to-use. It's designed to help you manage your out-of-print business just as we've used it to make our business successful. We also offer hardware and software support to get you started.
- Clicking the mouse cursor on buttons simplify routine tasks:
- Click "Quote" to create book quotes addressed to your customer.
- Click "Invoice" to send your complete customer information to the invoice.
- Click "Label" to automatically create a shipping label.
Two. Simple Design.
- BookStacks is a collection of Hypercard stacks designed for the management of book inventory, quoting, list generation, invoicing, customer records and correspondence. It includes customer, inventory, invoice, quote, sold, shipping label and want list stacks.
Three. Full Featured.
- The customer stack can also be used to print selected address labels. It also sends the customer name and address to the invoice. It creates a data file for use in producing multiple personalized form letters in Microsoft Word®.
- The inventory stack maintains complete records of your books for sale. You can develop catalogs containing a full description of each book or quote a single item. From this stack you can export a text file containing the descriptions of books for cataloging. The catalog items are selected by marking individual cards by clicking the mouse on the button "M." Once the books are selected the catalog text file is exported by clicking the button "Export Catalog." All marked cards will be exported to a text file ready for page layout or word processing.
- The invoices created by BookStacks include two customer copies, a shipping notice and a file copy. Your file copy will have the bookseller's confidential information for ease of tracking cost of goods sold.
- The wants stack lets you keep a record of your customer wants. A click of a button addresses a letter quotation to your customer when the book is located.
Four. Communicative.
- Are you now using an existing database? No need to retype all that data. BookStacks will import your data from a tab delimited and return terminated file. Do you want to get your books wants and sales listed on a matching database? A click of a button exports a file of books for sale and books wanted for export to BookBytes®, Interloc, Automated Bookman or other on-line systems.
Five. Adaptable.
- If you own Hypercard, you can learn Hypertext programming, then modify and add to the stacks as you like.
- While Hypercard Player can't be changed, programming support is available from Parmer Books at reasonable prices. We can incorporate changes to customize your system.
