BRAN MUFFINS 1/4 cup shortening 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed 1/4 cup molasses 2 eggs (unbeaten) 1 cup milk 1 cup flour 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda 3/4 tsp. salt 1 1/2 cups bran 1/2 cup raisins Cream shortening and sugar together. Add molasses and eggs and beat together well. Add milk, then bran. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt together, mixing into liquids. Add raisins. Place in greased muffin tins. Bake in 400F oven for 15 to 20 minutes. Makes 16 to 18 muffins.
