CREAMY CAESAR SALAD Dressing: 1-2 garlic cloves 1 large egg (or 2 smaller) 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 2 tbsp. lemon juice 2 tsp. anchovy paste Dash of pepper 1 cup cooking oil Put first six ingredients into blender. Blend until smooth. With blender running, add cooking oil in a slow stream. Chill about 2 hours. Salad: Large head romaine lettuce 2 cups croutons 8 bacon slices, cooked and crumbled (optional) 1/2 cup parmesan cheese Tear lettuce into bite-size pieces in salad bowl. Add dressing to taste. Toss to coat. Add parmesan cheese. Toss again. Add croutons. Toss lightly. Serves 6 Croutons: 2 tbsp. butter or margarine 1 garlic clove, sliced 4-5 white bread slices, cubed Sauté garlic in butter for 2-3 minutes. Remove garlic and discard. Add bread cubes. Fry until golden, stirring often. Remove. Cool.
