LASAGNA 1/2 green pepper, chopped 1 medium onion, chopped 2 tbsp. olive oil 1 pound ground beef 1 14-ounce can tomato sauce 1 15-ounce can tomatoes 1 5 1/2-ounce can tomato paste 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. oregano 1 tsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning 1 tsp. Accent 3/4 cup water 1 egg 1 cup cottage cheese 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese 1 package Mozarella cheese (6 or 8 ounces) 1 package medium cheddar cheese (8 ounces) 6 lasagna noodles - cooked, drained and standing in cold water Brown onions, green pepper, 1/2 teaspoon salt and ground beef in 1 tablespoon olive oil. Blend in tomato sauce, tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, sugar, Italian seasoning, Accent and water. Simmer 1/2 hour. Mix egg with cottage cheese, Parmesan cheese, one tablespoon olive oil and one teaspoon salt. Pour layer of meat sauce into greased 9x13" pan. Cover with half of the lasagna noodles. Spread all of the cottage cheese mixture on lasagna noodles, half of the mozarella cheese and half of the cheddar cheese. Cover with more meat sauce and the remaining lasagna noodles. Spread on the rest of the meat sauce. Top with remaining mozarella and cheddar cheese. Bake at 350F for 30 to 40 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
